Home and Happy!

I know you’ve all been on pins and needles waiting for another blog post. I have had the best of intentions but sometimes holding a sweet baby takes priority!

We were released from the hospital on Friday morning and were definitely ready to get home! We had such a great experience…wonderful nurses, doctors, visitors, etc…but nothing beats your own bed. :)

Sweet Jake was about ready to get back to normal life as well. He’s like his mama and doesn’t do well with change or crowds and I think the excitement of this past week was a little much for him. I know he loved spending time with family but he was also confused which led to several behavior problems. Luckily the last couple days have been loads better and I think he’s starting to adjust to our new life. He even offered his brother a truck this evening! Baby steps…

I was so naive because I really was thinking that the second Jake arrived at the hospital, he would run into our room, screaming and laughing, akin to a kid just told he was going to Disney World.

Wrong.

We were so sad at his reaction (talk about horrible guilt!!!) and have yet to get a picture of our family of 4 because we’re waiting on Jake to turn his frown upside down. We have our newborn pictures on Tuesday so hopefully she can capture some good ones then!

Drew is truly the easiest baby I’ve ever known. So easy that Seth wants me to make sure “this is normal” when I take him for his checkup tomorrow. HA! Folks, we paid our dues with Jake and if this continues, I will be so thankful for a go-with-the flow child. He only cries when he’s hungry or dirty…and even then, it’s a 2.5 second cry and then he’s back to sleeping or staring at us. People keep asking if I need help but honestly I don’t even feel like much has changed. He sleeps in his bouncy seat while Jake and I play and Jake doesn’t seem to mind when I feed him…so far so good!

Pictures. I know, you’re here for pictures.

Seth and I with our new little guy!

Nana and Drew (seeing a trend with these pictures?)

Grandpa and Drew

Soooo glad to have our sweet boy here!

Jake brought us balloons. He was trying to give the blue balloon to the baby. While his generosity did not go unnoticed, we were also trying to make sure not to suffocate anyone here :)

Jessie and Drew. And also, thanks a million to Jessie for watching Jake last minute while we went to the hospital!

Macie and Drew. She is waiting on a baby brother or sister of her own this next week!

Uncle Chase

The new Mr. & Mrs. Whitely with their new nephew!

Emily and Kyle with the baby. They weren’t able to come to the hospital when Jake was born so I know they were super excited to make it this time!

Thought this picture was an appropriate depiction of life now :) Jake desperately wanted to be held and I broke all the post-partum rules to hold both boys at the same time. Jake loved sharing my arms, as you can tell.

My favorite doctor in the whole world! I am so so glad he was able to deliver both boys.

The Bayles…Noah was nice enough to share his Mama with Drew. But only for a few minutes!

Kim, Garrett, and Drew

Kat and Sheila – thanks for the coffee!

(As you can tell, it was so sad. We didn’t have any visitors.)

Oh, and as for the delivery? Let’s just say I basically sneezed and the kid popped out. Jake’s delivery was pretty easy. This one was shockingly easy. If I ever got pregnant again (God save all of you), I think I’d start hanging out at the hospital a couple days before my due date. I was soooo very blessed to have a quick delivery and so far it’s been an easy recovery. I think it’s mostly because the good Lord just doesn’t like to hear my whining and complaining. :)

Ready to go home!

Phew. More updates to come tomorrow with some close up pics of the baby (sorry, we have to go in order here). We have his pedi appointment to check weight and I’m sure we’ll get a great report!

Thank you SO much for all of your thoughts, prayers, well wishes, meals, and more. We are so very blessed to have so many people that love us and our children!!

So I Wasn’t Pregnant Forever…

If you were wondering why I hadn’t gotten around to that 40 week belly picture, my apologies. I was too busy having a baby!

Andrew James Anderle was born on Wednesday, June 8th at 9:06pm. He weighed 6lbs, 10oz and was 21 inches long. Both measurements were bigger than his older brother which really surprised us!

(Also, I’ve only called him Jake about 12 times already. Look. It would’ve been so much easier to name him Jake2!)

Relaxin’ in the warmer

So far Drew seems to be a pretty laidback baby and only time will tell if that’s really true. But all I know is that he’s about 100 times quieter than little Jake was at the hospital!

The boys look similar but Drew seems to have fairer skin. Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll be at the pool next week to work on his suntan! :)

I will have more pictures and stories to share soon but I just wanted to update everyone and let you know that Drew was safely here and we are so glad! We couldn’t have asked for an easier delivery and are so blessed to have family and friends to support and visit us in the hospital. We should be released in the morning and are looking forward to our new life as a family of 4!

Ok 6. Sorry Maggie and Tucker.

Warning: Lots of Cute

In hindsight, this probably should’ve been broken up into several posts. But if summer activities continue at the pace they have been, I’m going to have to leave the camera at home sometimes. I’m sure my kids will love 18,000 pictures being dumped on them as they head off to college. I know their future wives will really appreciate it too.

No, I am never sarcastic!

Last weekend we celebrated Blake & Jack’s 2nd birthday. I’m really not sure how in the world they are TWO, seeing as we just celebrated their birth!!! Jake had a blast at Pump It Up, as did his daddy…

While I appreciate the effort to not get his hands dirty, this was a slightly ineffective way to eat the cupcake…

Melts my heart!

Oh how I wish this picture was up close! Jake looooves this slide and his grin is just priceless.

Of course Seth was there to “supervise”.

Y’all. I’m seriously wondering if we’ll have to do Seth’s 30th birthday party at Pump it Up! :)

Yesterday evening, Jake’s friend Noah came over to play! They weren’t quite sure what to think of each other at first. Jake has some serious sharing issues (though never has a problem using other kids toys!) and did not like Noah being all up in his business. Luckily, they called a truce and all was well the rest of the night.

Playing at the sand table
Aunt Paula was blowing lots of bubbles and the boys were loving it!
Noah is loving the entertainment and Jake just wants someone to put his shoe back on. It’s a tough life.

I apologize for the 40,000 bath photos you’re about to see but I couldn’t decide! And these are already narrowed down out of maybe 25. But the boys loved taking their bath together and were laughing, giggling, shrieking, splashing, etc. It made me so happy!

I mean really.

LOVE

Precious Noah with his blond hair and blue eyes. Going to be a heartbreaker one day when he’s 40 and allowed to date…

Also going to be a heartbreaker when he’s 65 and allowed to date :)

Pure joy

They did not want to get out of the bath so they started stalling by laying down on their tummies. Jake has actually never done this in the bathtub before and was pretty proud of himself. He also did it tonight. He laid there until all the water drained out and put his face in the floor of the tub “hiding” from us.

Come back to play soon friend!

THEN, this afternoon our gracious Sunday school teachers hosted a pool party and BBQ for our class at their house. They are super brave going from a kid-free zone to allowing our gajillion kids to come jump in their pool, run around in their yard, and pester their dog!

Some of the crew in the beautiful pool

It was so nice and relaxing! (Well, as much as it can be with all the squirts running around)

Sweet Jack

Jake loved playing in the little fountain

The boys were getting a kick out of Seth. He would make the water “disappear” and then it would shoot up and they were going nuts!

Thank you SO much Gary and Tami for hosting us – you wore everyone out!

This is a little pathetic, but it’s 8:30 and I’m about ready to call it a night! Hopefully what will be my last doctor’s appointment is in the morning and I will udpate on that later…

Bathing the Toys

Sometimes I would love to know what’s going on inside his little head! Jake loves to play in our bathtub while I’m getting ready and it’s funny to me how long he can focus on one activity. He always seems like he has a big plan. Future engineer probably!

Fun in the Sun

We decided we couldn’t get enough of the heat, so Jake and I met some of our friends at “Grandmother’s Purse” (a local fountain area) to splash around this morning. He loved it!

Showing Blake how to fill up his water bucket
A lot of the kids ran around through the water…Jake pretty much picked a spot and sat there. To each his own!

Jack D, Reagan, and Jack E taking a turn
Jack loved to pose for the camera!

Why not hydrate ourselves while we’re at it?

Jake couldn’t be bothered to put down his juice for a picture. But Macie and Lexi were all about saying cheese!
When he wasn’t playing in the water, it was just as entertaining to chase the other kids around in the grass.

After we had worn ourselves out, we headed to Grimaldis next door to get some pizza. I’m sure all the servers wanted to hide when they saw 6 moms and 8 kids coming through the door but luckily they all did pretty well and we didn’t get kicked out! :) I’m thinking we will go back and do this more often during the summer. There was actually shade and I’m sure Drew wouldn’t mind hanging out in the stroller while his big brother burned some energy. And mom won’t mind it either!

My Little Sister’s Wedding!

This weekend we road-tripped to College Station to see Rachel and Michael tie the knot! They have been dating for a jillion years and sometimes I would forget Michael wasn’t technically part of our family yet. We love them both to pieces and are so happy that we could share in their special day! Ever since the night I found out I was pregnant, I was worried about the timing of the baby and their wedding. I wanted to be there so bad! Luckily, everything worked out and we were able to safely make the trip there and back.

They got married at the 7F Lodge in College Station which was the neatest little place. They had a really cute chapel outside and the pews were out front. It was…how do I say…slightly WARM outside but we are all about the quick wedding ceremony and headed inside shortly after to sit under the A/C and fans! :)

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Whitely!

This picture really makes me laugh. I think Michael thought he was Prince Will :)

Cutting the yummy cake

First dance

Sisters! I somehow managed to be pregnant at both of their weddings. I swear it wasn’t on purpose.

Jake and the bride. That face about sums up his feelings on weddings.

Heading off to their honeymoon in cool Colorado

Unfortunately this picture was the best I could get of Jake and his cousin Caleb. Gotta love the way kids pose! You can see how sweaty and tired they look. These boys played and played all day with their monster trucks. Caleb was so sweet to share with Jake and didn’t seem to care that he was 2 years younger. They had the best time and I know Jake will be glad to have him around in the future!!

We are so happy for you, Rachel and Michael and can’t wait to see how God blesses your future together! Also, the sooner you can give Jake some cousins, the better. Thanks and gig ‘em.
