Well, it seems that I forgot to mention Thanksgiving. Which, by the way, really threw me off this year because I felt like it was so early.
We visited my grandparents and mom in East Texas for a couple days and had a good time seeing family we hadn’t seen in awhile. Several even got to meet Drew for the first time. It’s hard when everyone is really spread out!
I just love these boys. Jake is a little too good at working the iPad and it’s such a treat for him to play games on it. Today I decided to let him play a game on the laptop and how dare I suggest such an antiquated method of entertainment! He was so frustrated it wasn’t a touch screen and couldn’t quite grasp the concept of “drag and click”.
The boys had a great time showing off their wrestling skills. Papa & Nanny were laughing but I’m pretty sure it was nervous laughs as they waited for something to break.
Nana, Jake (with his most genuine smile), and Drew
Love this. They are so silly.
Since Thanksgiving was early, Christmas decorating came early too! We usually put everything up the weekend after Thanksgiving so this year we were ready to go before December even arrived.
Jake was a big help bringing all the decorations in from the garage.
What do you think they were more excited about…the tree or the step ladder?
There was so much to be thankful for this year. I feel that God has completely blessed us with his provision and protection. We have families that love us and two boys that melt our hearts. We have more than enough food, shelter, health, and we are beyond thankful.
I know all our lives have been rocked by what happened on Friday morning. I am discovering that it’s even harder to comprehend things like this as a mother because it hits in my very core. I hope you will all be praying for the people of CT. They need our prayers.
On Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. We will post the button and that’s it. Please try to not post anything else that day if possible.
We are also raising money that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service we are donating to:
“Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.
ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING.”
We can’t imagine how they must be feeling, especially this close to the holidays. We would love for you to spread the word on your own blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Let’s make a difference and use blogging in a positive way. Thank you in advance for participating.

Well. It’s been so long, I can’t even remember where I left off. So it seems fitting that we’ll start with our visit with Mr. Claus.
If you remember from last year, our boys sure do love them some Santa.
This will always be one of my favorite pictures!
Jake really was so excited to see Santa but stopped dead in his tracks the second he spotted him. Our neighborhood HOA put on a Breakfast with Santa so we were able to go eat donuts and watch him from afar.
Because clearly nobody wanted to watch him from a’close.
How cute are these two boys? They bring us such joy!
We have had so much fun this Christmas season…children really do bring the joy back into the holidays! I have lots more to share. As much as I want an empty calendar, we seem to stay so busy. My school semester finally ends this week so hopefully I can play catch up before the Christmas craziness begins…
So apparently I’ve used all my storage space on Blogger and it won’t let me upload anymore pictures unless I start a new blog or pay a monthly fee…
Which is unfortunate because I had some priceless Santa pictures to share!
Never fear, I will get to the bottom of this. Stay tuned…
(I could also just start describing all our pictures to you. Which I’m sure would be almost the same. Just like the pioneers.)
