I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
1 Timothy 2:1-2
Today is a memorable day. Inauguration Day 2009 will be one to make the history books. Our children won’t believe we were alive when our country elected our first black president! Do we all agree with the decision our country has made? Maybe yes. Maybe no. However, God commands us to pray for our leaders and those in authority. To get down on our knees, opinions aside, and pray fervently over them.
But the best part is that Jesus is our true king! He guides the president and he guides us. This is all part of His plan and He will ultimately take care of us and our country.
I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
1 Timothy 2:8
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
May God bless America and President Obama today!
p.s. I know it’s probably a mistake that Seth & I never received our invitation to the Inauguration Ball? Very weird. I had pulled out my old prom dress and everything.
